Our course lasts 16 weeks, spread over a longer period to embed learning, aid reflection and ensure holidays are considered.
Our Focus Awards Diploma in Teaching Yoga Sessions qualification is at level 3 on the Regulated Qualifications Framework.

Aim:
The aim of the Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Yoga Sessions is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to:
- Plan, prepare and deliver safe and effective yoga sessions.
Objectives:
To provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to:
- Understand the underpinning principles of yoga.
- Understand the anatomy and physiology theory related to yoga.
- Understand and be able to plan yoga sessions.
- Be able to teach a safe and effective yoga session.
- Be able to self-evaluate and reflect on teaching skills and personal practice.
Progression:
This qualification provides progression to:
- Other fitness instruction qualifications at Level 2 or Level 3.
- Level 3 qualifications for learners who wish to further their knowledge and skills. For example, Exercise Referral for learners who wish to work with specialist populations as well as the general population or Sports Massage (Soft Tissue Therapy).
Entry Requirements:
- Learners must have at least two years’ experience participating in yoga classes.
- The course requires physical exertion; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary.
- There is an element of communication involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2.
