LEVEL 4 CERTIFICATE IN SPORTS MASSAGE THERAPY
If you already have your level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage therapy and are looking to move on to the next stage, then our Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy qualification is the one for you.
Our next level 4 sports massage therapy course begins in late 2024 and we are taking bookings now.
Not only will you be equipped with the skills and knowledge to transform lives, but your client base will also increase as well as your earning potential.
This is a course with added extras to give you the advantage over your competition. Our classroom facilities are graded A and our practical sessions take place in a fully equipped working Micro-Spa.
Our tutors not only have the necessary knowledge to deliver the course to the highest standards they are also experienced personal trainers and therapists, so can help you with setting out on your own and building your client base.
The course lasts 12 weeks. It consists of three four-week sections. The first and last four weeks are practical and based at our facilities here. The middle four are home-based where you can work on assignments and practice on clients. Do not be fooled by intensive five-week courses, employers frown upon them, preferring to choose candidates who have had a thorough training course from experienced professionals.
Our Active IQ Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy is at level 4 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework. It is also CIMSPA endorsed.

Aim:
The aim of the Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to treat and/or seek to correct common patterns of dysfunction and pre-diagnosed injuries.
Objectives:
To provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to:
- Understand the clinical procedures for client assessment and treatment planning.
- Conduct objective physical assessments.
- Understand the purpose of neuromuscular and tissue mobilisation techniques in sports massage and the skills to be able to apply effective neuromuscular and tissue mobilisation techniques.
- Utilise soft tissue techniques appropriate to specific clients.
- Understand treatment modalities to support soft tissue repair.
Progression:
This qualification provides progression on to further specialist training in sports massage and routes into fitness instructing.

There are links to the NOS in sports massage.
Entry Requirements:
- Learners must hold the Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy or equivalent.
- There is an element of communication involved (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 3.
- Performing sports massage is a physical activity and learners will need to be fit enough to carry this out.
